Israel/Palestine : From Italy to Oliva-Zeitun and women of Gaza ( Paola Manduca )

Our concern is the safety of women on Olive-Zaitun boat that in these moments was intercepted by the Israeli Navy, which certainly has the record of violence against civilian vessels in recent history.

But my attention goes to the fact that neither the women on board, nor those who, along with the entire population in the Gaza look forward for their arrival, are only concerned about safety and that all would not only breathe a sigh of relief if there are no injuries and violences, because, above all we, would like that the boat carries out its mission, purely symbolic to break the blockade of Gaza and get into the harbor.

We'd like it to see  the media point out to the paradox by which many commentators consider justified the Israeli interceptio on ground of  "national security", even  in this case where there is nothing but women's bodies on board.

The signs  of domestication of the minds are abundant in media, and the lack of clarity in the comments of the few media that talk about this mission; they know only how to wonder about the technique and method that Israel will use to reduce the damage to its image.

Meanwhile, the paradoxical essence, illegitimate and illegal that brings to intercept the Oliva-Zeitun with women only on board does not emerge at in the front lines; is not spoken about for what it is,   an intolerable wound to the right and freedom of peoples, those on the boat and those they representin the world,  and those of Gaza.

We would like to see comments in media about the irresponsible use of force against citizens of the world who are in international waters or waters  internationally recognized as Palestinians, we would like to see outrage at the arrogance that attempts to destroy symbolic gestures shared by many in the world who have supported this mission, or we would appreciate "ironic" comments on the Goliath that is afraid of the little ones.

But above all we want to see the sanctions by states.

Those many which  complain about the blockade of Gaza, first of all.

And see that they interrupt the funding of the Gaza blockade, which is paid by the world the world, and on which Israel profits, and that they block  the military supplies to Israel.

That they translate complains in actions  because of the persistence of this military blockade and the policy of appropriation through settlements and "small" local block also in west bank.

These are all issues on which apparently there is a wide consensus since years in complaining and never action is taken.The block of Oliva-Zeitun boat is just the latest fact of series, that, if seen for what it means should turn the trend of complicity.

Mostly, we would like to be there and part of  the embrace that Gaza women, but not only, would give to the women "coming from the sea" and share the emotion of the children, young people and all the people in the harbor of Gaza.

It's just that embrace that the women from the world bring to women of Gaza ... is so clear and well known and visible that, in fact, is this really what is frightening the establishment of the blockade, is the  solidarity among peoples scares the  "amorality of a state of siege" .
