Introduction
2014 was a very critical and dangerous period on Arab and international level.
The popular movements and international progressive forces were able to achieve many important victories in facing the plans of imperialism, staring from Latin America and the victory of the Cuban Revolution to impose itself on Washington and to let it confess that the US policies failed in its conspiracy policy against Cuba, up to Europe, where the workers’ movements formed tool to face the continuous capitalist trying to put the burdens of its unsolvable crises on the working class and the middle class.
But these victories, among them what have been achieved by the Palestinian revolution (and its left forces) in facing the Israeli aggressions and the ability of the Tunisian revolution to finish the Muslim Brotherhood authority, were accompanied by incensement in imperialist aggressiveness, the USA in specific, in many regions, especially in Ukraine and many African states which lived, and still living unprecedented bloody disturbances, religious and ethnic wars. The imperialist concentrates its aggressive attacks on the region of the middle east, in general, and the Arab World in specific, depending on the policies of the reactionary political systems in the region, which participated in creating a state of chaos by supporting the terroristic groups starting from Iraq up to Syria, Lebanon, Egypt, Libya and other countries in the region.
Maybe one of the most dangerous forms of implementing the imperialist plans “the New Middle East”, which is targeting to draw new borders for religious and ethnic states, is hatching fascist religious political forces which were able, since June 2014 and with the American, regional, and reactionary Arab (turkey, Saudi Arabia and Qatar) support to control big areas from Iraq to Syria. And since then they are trying to expand their control to Lebanon, which flashes back political memory of 80s, in the 20th century, and establishing the fascist Al Qaeda organization by the CIA to face the communist expansion. Today the USA is doing the same scenario through “Daash” – ISIS, “Jabhat Al Nousra”, and its sisters, for two linked targets. The first target is to hit the revolutions of the Arab peoples and their uprising to defeat their targets in achieving democratic change in the Arab political systems. The second is the escalating of the political sectarian fight, and ethnic too, which forms a pretext for the Israeli entity to achieve its fascist racist dream by announcing the establishment of “the Jews state in the world” on the lands of occupied Palestine, adding to that, hitting the resisting forces to its aggressiveness, whether in Palestine or in Lebanon, where the Israeli – imperialist conspiracy continues, and the attacks too, on Lebanon and its people, the last one was the gas bombs on the Lebanese army and the air strikes on the Islamic resistance patrol.
This vision, accompanied with facilitating the existence of terroristic forces in the Syrian and Lebanese regions that close to occupied Palestine, adding to that the sharpness of the US – Russian conflict on more than one front, confirms that the region will stay a detainee of aggressive wars and sectarian fights that complete these aggressive wars… this issue requires searching for gathering the democratic and revolutionary forces to face the liberation challenges and working on achieving the change that has begun.
First: on the Arabic and regional situation
1- “The International Coalition” and the lie of fighting terrorism:
The quickness of controlling big areas by fascist organization “Daash” ISIS, in Iraq up to Kurdistan, and its control over big regions in Syria, the borders region with Iraq, and what “Daash” ISIS is looking for on the Lebanese Syrian borders, confirms that the American imperialism is still hoping to confirm its full control on Iraq and its resources, and trying to continue what it has started in dividing this country on sectarian and ethnic bases.
USA did not take any step till the fascist organization “Daash” ISIS controlled big regions in Syria and Iraq up to the borders of Iraq Kurdistan, which forms strategic region for the American imperialism project because it has huge oil reserves, investments of American petroleum companies and the relation between Kurdistan with USA and the Israeli entity, that is why the target of establishing what is named “The International Coalition to Fight Terrorism” which includes about 20 states (Lebanon is in and Iran is not) was not in real to hit terrorism but it was to reorganize the fight in the reign to go in the direction the origin imperialism project… which is drawing again the borders of the states, which were created, in the second decade of 20th century, by Sykes-Picot agreement on the bases of dividing what it had been already divided, into religious, sectarian and ethnic fighting states with each other to confirm the domination of American imperialism on the region and its wealth, and protecting in their internal fights the Israeli entity letting it to achieve its dream in religious state.
So “Daash” ISIS, and its sisters, found the excuse that Washington needs to reoccupy Iraq. The window that entered from was “fighting terrorism”. A window has so many windows and get beyond Iraq to reach Syria by air strikes in the Syrian territories, which is breaching to Syrian sovereignty and to the international laws, because the “international coalition” works out of UN and the security council, which their decisions are ruled by the conflict between the two capitalist poles USA and Russia.
With all the air strikes of the “International coalition” on” Daash” ISIS in Iraq and Syria, and with a lot of talks about military and logistic support that were presented to Lebanon, it good to notice the following:
First: the coalition attacks concentrated on specific regions while “Daash” ISIS still achieving progress and impose its control on the regions that it is in, which indicates to drawing red lines to be as a fact.
Second: increasing in the signs of coming again the land USA military forces, and some of its NATO supporters, to Iraq and Kurdistan region but this time in forms of military experts and trainers for Kurds forces – Peshmerga - and the Iraqi army, and these experts and trainers have immunity that put them above the local laws. This coming back could be as an introduction to reinforce the NATO military bases in the region.
Third: talking again about establishing “isolated region” or “buffer zones” is gaining its importance, especially after Kobany battle in Syria which was fought by Kurdish fighters against the fascist organization “Daash” ISIS, due to superficial differences between USA and Turkey about the role of Turkey in fighting terrorism, and its insistence on imposing “isolated area” on the Syrian Turkish borders as a condition to participate in war on terrorism. This difference indicates to three things:
a- The enrolment of Erdogan in supporting the religious fascist organizations, and what his entrance in war against them may form negative reflections on his strength position.
b- Turkey contiguous work, with all possible methods, to control the Kurdish region and butting it under its authority, because Kurds in Turkey and on its borders forms real threat to it. It seems Erdogan has been successful in what he wanted, that is through letting “Peshmerga” forces get into Kobany to participate in the fight against “Daash” ISIS, but with Turkish conditions, and also not putting obstacles form Turkish side on the entrance and movement of terrorist members. That means keeping “Daash” ISIS as a threat’s tool for Kurdish regions and imposing red lines in these regions. Also this organization is used by Erdogan with what is related to the crises in Syria.
c- It seems the roles of the regional countries, in specific Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Iran, are not yet crystallized in the frame between USA and Russia. The indicator to that is USA did not agree on establishing isolated area on the Syrian – Turkish borders, from Kobany side (which is not isolated area but new borders) because agreeing on that may lead Iran to do similar step and establish isolated area on its borders with Iraq to fight terrorism too.
Fourth: it is clear that what is named war on terrorism, under the leadership of USA, will take long time. This what has been confirmed by USA president, Barak Obama, in many of his statements. That means the tension will stay in the region as it is from wars, destroying, killing and displacement to the longest possible time, and the people of the region has to pay the bill, especially that USA has started to calculate the bill of what is named its war on terrorism.
So we can conclude that the “war on terrorism” is, in fact, paving the road for the return of USA military forces to the region in the frame of its imperialist project “The New Middle East” through creating fascist religious organizations and imposing them as de facto to draw on these bases the new borders of Sykes-Picot countries. So it is obvious who found terrorism it is not from its interests to eliminate it because it one of the USA imperialist aggressive tools to control the world under the argument of “fighting terrorism” and not eliminating it.
2 - The Iranian nuclear issue and the Vienna negotiations:
On November 24, 2014, third round of meetings were held in Vienna between the five +1 with Iran about its nuclear issue, and there were talks about possibility to achieve a frame of agreements, but the talks were postponed, that was expected, most of the observers said that because of dispute about two points: the first is percent of uranium enrichment and Urack reactor, and the second about stop the economic sanctions on Iran.
Even though these important two issues but not reaching to frame of agreement and postponing the fourth rounds of talks to seven months, is up to – that is according to some information – that USA worked on linking the Iranian nuclear issue with complement arrangement in the region on the base of compromise (Israel and security agreement with Iraqi system), on the other side Iran worked on, and sure Russia in the back, to separate its nuclear issue from the arrangement in the middle east. That indicates to that the conditions for arrangement between USA and Russia are not ripe yet.
In the field of postponing, also, there is a need to look at the Saudi movement to prevent achieving an agreement in Vienna talks. That was presented by the visit of the Saudi minister foreign affairs, Souad Al Faysal, to Moscow (it was without results), and the French role, due to Saudi request, to hider the negotiations about the Iranian nuclear talks, which reflect the fear of Saudi Arabia from the USA and Iran getting closer on its account of its role as regional country.
Here we indicate to that the struggle between Iran and Saudi Arabia is not limited to Syria but it is also struggle in Iraq, Yemen and other gulf states. If Saudi Arabia were able to move the Iranian man in Iraq, Nouri Al Maliki, form the presidency of the ministers cabinet to be replaced by Al Abadi due to the collapse of Iraqi army in front of “Daash” ISIS attacks, but in a quick way Saudi Arabia received tough hit in its weak point, Yemen, through the Shiite Huthis’ control over most of Yemen regions, in specific the northern regions, and they arrived to the capital of Yemen, Sana, and to Bab Al Mandeb strait, benefiting from the intersection between the interests between it and the previous president of Yemen, Ali Abdallah Saleh, who considered that Saudi Arabia was behind his putting away from the authority. From the quick progress of the Huthis it seems that Saleh is still holding the keys of authority in Yemen, the army is included, and still has support from the big tribes.
Coming back to Vienna negotiations between Iran and the five + 1 we can conclude that:
First: Iran was able to impose itself as regional country which has effects in the region.
Second: it entered into the negotiations about its nuclear issue and being free, temporarily, from being threat with military attack.
Third: it was able to separate its nuclear issue from complete arrangement in the region, with the burdens that Iran may hold, the tired state form economic sanctions, due to the conditions of such arrangements that seemed not on the short run.
On the other side USA, adding to has gained in Iraq, was able to put aside the nuclear weapons in the Israeli entity and putting it above all laws. Also time factor plays for the benefit of USA and it not from the interest of Iran which is in hurry to quick the negotiations to stop the economic sanctions against it. On this level the partial and limited stop of sanctions against Iran and releasing of some of its money in USA, USA face it with reducing the oil prices, which it arrived to less than $40/b, and that means tough hit to the economy of Iran, Russia and Venezuela who depend on exporting oil.
All of these put the question about the future of oil and gas exporting countries, also put again the USA – Russian conflict about transporting gas to Europe and the projects that are related to the pipe line to Middle East and Europe.
3 - The Syrian crises
The Syrian crises entered its 4th year, with hundreds of thousands of victims, millions of displaced and refugees, the highest percentage in the world of displaced, internal and external, as percentage to population. The people of Syria are suffering, in general, in specific the displaced, from hard living conditions, the minimum that can be said about is misery, adding to that semi complete destruction to wide regions of Syria without any close solution to the crises which their country is facing and what makes it more complicated is the sharp conflict between USA and Russia on the region which still on the peak.
On parallel line to the change in the crises of Syria into war with sectarian character, new development appeared, and it is very dangerous, (we have indicated to it in the previous political report that is issued by the foreign affairs committee in march 14, 2014), at that time, it was represented by “some terroristic fractions (Jabhat Al Nousra and” Daash” ISIS) are not any more under the control of the Syrian opposition that is abroad, in specific “the Syrian National Coalition” and “The Syrian Free Army”, and the crimes that are committed by these fractions against militias and citizens in the regions that are under their control”. Today these religious fascist fractions became the strongest, and expanded their control from Syria to Iraq to Lebanon due to the support that they got from imperialist – reactionary Arab and regional coalition.
In these dramatic events that Syria is facing, and reflected on the political and security levels in Lebanon, especially after the battle of the Lebanese city of Ersal, in the mid of last year and consequences of it from security explosions and military ones, a lot of initiatives have appeared, we stop at two of them:
The first initiative, Russian, the missionary of Russia’s president to the Middle East, Mikhaïl Bogdanov, to get out of the stable situation and continue what has been achieved in “Geneva 1” and “Geneva 2” through launching talks between the Syrian political system and part of the Syrian opposition to look for political solution of the crises. It starts from staying the president of Syria in the transitional period where the opposition participates in it beside the political system which did not show enthusiasm to the Russian initiative. The political system is still betting on the ability of military solution which did not achieve it till now even if it controls, for long time, of most major cities in Syria, Al Qusair and Qalamoon included, and directed to control Aleppo. This control over major cities did not change the balance of power except partially. It is till now in field of attack and retreat. Also the system and the external opposition are still working on shrinking the internal national democratic opposition, which does not have foreign link, to keep it away from the political solution and that because this national democratic opposition asks for establishing national democratic system where in it could achieve the right demands of the people of Syria in freedom, democracy, social progress and get again the role of Syria in resisting the occupation till liberating its land and also facing the aggressiveness of imperialism.
The second initiative: named “Aleppo first”, Steven De Mistura through it he works to freeze the fight between the system and the armed opposition in Aleppo, it reminds with what had happened during the Lebanese civil war from dividing Beirut into “eastern” and “western” Beirut and putting red line between them… which means the initiative is not more than painkilling pills which keep the Syrian crises as it is, and lead to imposing what is close to buffer zone between the two fighting parts.
Between the Russian initiative to hold Moscow-1 and the UN project named “Aleppo first”, the USA still working on arming and training what is named “neutral opposition” which forms to USA the tools to implement its plan in Syria, exactly as the “neutral Iraqi opposition” was before, as it is known “neutral” in the USA imperialist conception means, first securing its expanding project in the Middle East and second recognizing the Israeli entity.
According to that we can say the political solutions that is supposed to the crises in Syria will not be implemented in the present time as long as – all of them – part of the general solution to reorganize the situation of the region in all and it seems the conditions have not been crystallized yet even with Moscow meeting, or an agreement between Iran and the five +1 achieved… especially that the internal opposition is still weak.
So the security and military developments will be quicker, the organized killing and displacement will escalate and the sectarian splits too, also the bill which the Syrian people will pay will increase, till now it exceeds $ 200 billion due to organized and continuous damages in Syria.
4 – The Palestinian cause
In the occupied Palestinian territories, the Israeli entity is trying to let its Zionist plan pass, “the international Jewish state”, which David Ben-Gurion puts the bases before 1948, benefiting from attracting attention to what war against terrorism in Iraq, Syria and the Lebanese - Syrian borders. Adding to that, Benjamin Netanyahu government, which was bothered by the return of the people of Palestine to armed resistance and the position the left started to have in confrontation, will try get rid of the people’s uprising through moving some parts “supporting it” in the Palestinian authority to vacuum the big victory that haves been achieved in the last confrontations with the occupying army, not only in Gaza but also in the uprisings that took place in West Bank and the detainees uprising and the role that is played by the Palestinians of 1948 in gaining again the national Palestinian factor to confront all the forms of displacement and Judaization.
Also there is a need to indicate to the reflections of resisting movement and uprisings in changing the balance of international powers which support establishing Palestinian state (even if it is limited to only the borders of occupied territories in 1967), also international support to the request of Palestine to join Hague convention. Also there is a need to indicate to the expand in rows of those who oppose the policy of settlement and the racist Israeli West Bank Barrier, even in the European right wing… which indicate to the ability of the Palestinian resistance to continue what it has started on preparing for second intifada. It is a necessary and urgent intifada especially that the occupation authority puts, lately, and on light of the project that is presented by the minister of USA foreign affairs, John Kerry, in last July, new settlement plan to quick Judaization of Al Qods city (Jerusalem) and its surrounding, and changing the features of 1948 regions as an introduction to displace all the people of Palestine from its land and country.
We must not forget that the plan does not stop on borders of Palestine but it will reach big part of Lebanon and Syria which close to the borders of occupied Palestine and that allows Israel – in case the confrontation was limited to the Palestinian factor only – to put its hand on the water spring in Golan and Lebanese heights, and oil and gas fields which positioned on shores from Gaza to territorial Lebanese shores.
That is Concentration was, and still, on unifying the mass movement and the Palestinian national political forces in facing the Israeli plan… especially that this unity which formed in the last confrontations with the Israeli aggression on Gaza (even in West Bank and 1948 territory) with what appeared during it from the role of left in resisting the aggression, and result of changing the balance of the international powers to recognize the Palestinian state, gave a clear view about the ability to achieve serious improvement in the path of the Palestinian cause in case the first choice was resisting and not giving up the rights.
Second: the duty of left in confronting the aggressiveness of imperialism and counter- revolution forces
More than three years has passed since Arab peoples revolutions and uprisings started and what they formed in their slogans on replying to “the New Middle East” project, and returned the Arab – Israeli fight, and Arab – imperialist fight to their normal position, and these slogans attracted, in most of the Arab countries, huge numbers calling to get rid of subordination, poverty, backwardness and liberation of Arab’s wealth, the old and the newly discovered, from the hands of imperialist powers which dominating our region, and on its head USA, adding to that liberation from the Arab bourgeoisie and the agent one which proved, in the previous years, that it is ready to rupture the Arab world and to kill as much as possible just to protect its interests and the interests of it masters. The aggressiveness of USA, imperialism and reactionary and agent Arab and regional political systems are increasing in their means in their attacks on radical democratic changing forces by supporting the counter - revolution forces, from what is left from the collapsed system which lost their heads to fascist religious forces in all their faces, which are gathering today in the Arab region under the slogan of “Jehad” to make few steps in retaining their systems to continue what USA imperialism has achieved, whether in Sudan or in Iraq to generalize it in Syria and Libya, from division, chaos, killing and destruction to establish the base to success “the New Middle East” project.
According to that the Lebanese Communist Party (LCP) confirms that confronting the aggressiveness of imperialism and its reactionary allies is a complete confrontation not limited to one Arab country without the other that is why from the beginning of the revolutions and uprisings in the Arab countries the LCP has warned from the counter-revolution forces and called, with the Arab Left Forum, to the necessity of having “Resisting Arab Front”. The USA imperialist aggressiveness and its fascist political religious tools cannot be resisted in religious political thought nor with betting on the results of fight between the two capitalist poles, Russia and USA. But it can be resisted by national democratic liberating resisting project.
The conditions for establishing “Resisting Arab Front” that progress more and more, especially after the uncovering of the religious political forces projects (Muslim brotherhoods in Egypt and Al Nahda in Tunisia) that are counter-revolution, and the increase in the imperialist aggressiveness. That is why LCP puts in the present situation, the duty of benefiting from the experience of establishing fronts in Egypt and Tunisia. And have been achieved in facing the political religious forces and what is remained form collapsed systems in both countries, to build on these experiences toward unifying the Arab left on struggling program for radical democratic change forms the introduction to unify the struggle on the international level against the imperialist aggressiveness which targeting the whole world. It is a duty LCP puts in the 5th meeting of the Arab left Forum.
Third: the Lebanese crises and suggestions for change
How the Arab and regional situations is reflected in Lebanon? What are the threats that are facing our country in its water wealth and oil fields that have been discovered in it regional waters, even in its geographic and political unity?
1- on political level:
Lebanon lives political crises increased in the last eight months due to the entrance of “Daash” ISIS and its sisters on the struggle that started in 2005 and followed by Israeli aggressions in 2006, and the paralysis that attacks all the institutes of the government, starting from the emptiness in the presidency of the government and flabbiness in ministers cabinet, which extended to itself twice (for full time), up to ineffectiveness of the government.
The Bourgeois class, subordinated to capital forces, pushes the country in division and fragmentation due to multi belongings in it, starting from Saudi Arabia up to Iran. That is why the country has lived, during the previous year, and the beginning of the present year, a lot of miseries and problems. The important ones are:
- The attack of terroristic groups, that exists in the eastern and southern-eastern borders between Lebanon and Syria (and some of them exists in the Syrian refugees camps) whether in the city of Ersal and in its fields or in the close regions to Ras Baalbek (in the Bekaa) or in some regions close Shebaa (in the south)…
- These attacks accompanied by killing some soldiers in the Lebanese army and capturing some. The Lebanese government failed in liberating them due to the split and the fragmentations that mentioned above, and not forgetting the internal and external interference in this issue and the blackmail the kidnapping part (“Daash” ISIS and Al Nousra) is using, and the conditions it puts, which could be summarized to that what these parts are looking for is not less than confessing that they exist on our borders.
- the shaken security situation, the last one was the terrorist explosion in Jabal Muhsen in Tripoli , after the second city in Lebanon had witnessed for a period of time aggressive fights killed many soldiers and citizens and caused destruction in homes and properties. It is good to indicate to that many terroristic sleeping cells and awake that discovered by the security forces in the regions of Lebanon, without exceptions, from hotels in Beirut up to far villages. The estimated number of members of these cells, till now, is more than one thousand and two hundred members, among them there are women.
- the Israeli entity entered again to raise the level of internal conflict, before in opening the gates that under its control in Golan for the terroristic forces or through the new aggression on the joined Hezbollah and Iranian military leadership patrol which led to killing part of it.
We think the presidency in Lebanon will stay facing the fatal emptiness, the cabinet and the minister cabinet without effectiveness, because the dominating ruling class is waiting for what may happen, especially in field of the war in Syria, adding to that the divisions in the gulf states (especially what is happening in Bahrain and Yemen) and what the Iranian – American talks may lead to. The most dangerous thing in this issue is that the country, in the present time, lives, and will live, critical situations due to the defect in the head of the authority and uncovering the army and the security forces to the terroristic forces which continue their pressure on the border regions. Adding to all these possibilities the possibility of reappearing of the Israeli element, especially that it is living now political and economical crises. The reappearing will be in forms of new attacks, direct or indirect, by pushing its sleeping cells in the country to move.
From here we can notice that the agreement among the bourgeoisie parts which held the name of Taëf Agreement in 1998, has fallen due to the return of sharp splits that depends on sectarian bases which aggravated after the withdrawal of American – NATO from Iraq. That is why, and due to these divisions the big issues will stay postponed for more months at least, from presidency issue to rental law (which is already postponed from years). The dialogue that started in the beginning of this year among the main bourgeoisie political parts in March 8 and 14 (in specific between the Hezbollah and Al-Mustakbal Movement, or between General Michel Aoun and Samir Geagea) is not more that “playing in the free time” or in best cases a try to comfort the tensed internal atmosphere and postponing the expected explosion because of the increscent in the sectarian Sunnite – Shiite tense on the Arab level, especially after June 2014 when “Daash” ISIS announced the new Caliphate state and the events of the previous year in Syria and some gulf states.
These developments, especially what is expected on the short run, confirms the importance of completing, and enlarging the steps that are related to the “National Initiative for Rescue and Change”, especially for calling to national establishing conference confirms the bases of building the gathering national democratic state which could summarized with fighting against the imperialist – Zionist – reactionary terroristic attack on Lebanon and securing its national independence and sovereignty, and also in political change starting with new non sectarian electoral law up to one personal status law.
2- Socio – economic level:
The previous weeks showed that Lebanon is not only facing the threat of terrorism and its role in collapsing the internal security, the return of sectarian fight, but also is facing the danger of expired food and medications, landfills waste and cement factories and many other things that threat nature and human in direct way.
- Beside these food and environmental wars, some ministries try to light its grave consequences on the people through useless procedures accompanied by big propaganda. There are attempts to displace more than quarter of the Lebanese, the poor in specific, by the rental law which makes Beirut and the big Lebanese cities a place for foreign capital and allows it to gain high profits, whether through real-estate brokers or selling Lebanon to “multi” real-estate companies, which have foreign – Lebanese capital. The rental law which cabinet voted for and constitutional council accepted the tenants refuse to some of its articles has frozen it for a period of time due to the wide popular campaign that moved to face the new rental law consequences but the danger is still on especially the big companies is trying to get rid of the old tenants and pushing them to go out of Beirut to be able to reorganize the civil situation in the capital to change it into globalized city and not unified Lebanon.
On the other side the executive and the legislative authorities, which represent the interests of big capital, are trying to hung the citizen with indirect taxes and fees that put by IMF and WB and on the other side the salaries for workers in the public sector – the army included - are frozen and the war of big bourgeoisie on salaries is still on, which based on reforming and developing the public sector, at the same time “the Syndicate Coordination Committee” (the representative to teachers and workers in the public sector) is fighting to correct the salaries which allows the low wages gainers to gain again what they have lost due to the wrong economic policies that led Lebanon to fall under $80 billion debts and some say the real numbers of debts is bigger than that.
The Lebanese bourgeoisie, with the executive and legislative authorities, are not satisfied with conspiracy on the public sector but it hinders the developments of the productive sectors. The agriculture and industry are facing what is named open customs which opened the doors for competing foreign goods, especially in agriculture, where the agricultural calendar became somehow useless which allows for the foreign goods to compete and win, and the governmental support to these sectors has very low percentage from its budget. The indicators of the weakness of these sectors are depression and falling back of exporting percentage about 15% from the previous year… when nasty business is increasing in respect to imported expired food.
On the social level, in addition to settlement problems which mentioned above, the struggle between the workers and the bourgeoisie today is about social security for the citizens, which facing deficiency in collecting, also all the services of the social security system, especially the try to use the reserves of ending the service. Conspiracy on the citizens is not limited only to the social security system but it goes to all other security boxes (especially in education) where even money took from the salaries of the employees, the government tends to reduce the budget of these boxes which effect negatively on the health of the workers in the public sector and their families too.
At last, we are not forgetting the critical financial situation of the public education sector and the Lebanese university and the facilities that are given to the private education sector and private universities which are spreading in the country like mushrooms, also not forgetting the bad situation of women in the field of economic and social decision making and increasing violence against them.
These situations, and so many other ones, with absence of the General Workers Union from the field struggling and its coalition with the political authority and its submission to sectarian leaderships confirms the importance supporting and developing the three struggling centers and we mean: “The Trade Union Coordination Committee” in the public sector, “The Democratic Trade Union Center” which founded by FENASOL, and also includes number of active vocational unions, as “Defending Committee for Tenants’ Rights”; and if we want to have wider vision about the effected from the social and political policy of the bourgeoisie we can see in some youth who are looking for jobs and free job movements, and the struggling women for equality what put the bases to build a social front which struggles on the changing of the socio-economic policies following since the third “Conference of Paris about Lebanon” made by the IMF and the WB, in according with USA, EU and the Arab reactionary regimes. These social movements will be part of the Political Front for Change.
